My name is Davide Fornaro, and I have a degree in “Languages for Business” from the University of Genoa.
I have been a Certified Hiking Guide since 2014 and I am regularly registered with AIGAE (the main professional association in the field).
I recently obtained the title of Cycling Tourism Guide, a profession recognized by the Liguria Region, highlighting the growing demand for this role.
Upon request, I offer hiking and cycling tour itineraries not only in Italian but also in German, English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
I was born in Alessandria but have been living permanently in Diano Marina, in the province of Imperia, in western Liguria, at the heart of “Riviera dei Fiori” (Flowers Riviera).
I guide groups on hiking and cycling itineraries, mainly in Liguria, the French Riviera, and southern Piedmont.
A lifelong nature lover in all its forms and an enthusiast of outdoor activities, I am committed in promoting awareness of our surroundings and respect for the environment in all its aspects— from coastal ecosystems to alpine landscapes.
With this in mind, I guide people along our beautiful trails, whether they are new to hiking or have made walking a way of life.
Walking, just like cycling, can be an ode to slowness, helping us learn to breathe properly while discovering small churches, ancient olive mills, historic mule tracks, and the endemic flora and fauna of the Mediterranean scrub, as well as the Apennine and Alpine environments.
In the provinces of Savona and Imperia, as well as in the French Riviera, beyond the coast and its undeniable beauty, one can travel just a few kilometers to reach peaks over 2,000 meters high, with a “sea view.”
You can explore the ancient Salt Roads connecting Piedmont to Liguria and the old military roads of the “Vallo Alpino Occidentale” (Western Alpine Wall), which still connect Italy to France, passing through forts and bunkers built during the tragic World Wars—an integral part of our history and a reminder for the future.
Every hike, whether on foot or by bike, immerses you in a “slow” experience. Whenever possible, we also offer tastings of local products from family-run farms in small villages and hamlets, providing an authentic experience far from mass tourism.
